Fake beggar

A person who does the lucrative modern scam trend, often seen in urban areas, where individuals exploit others' sympathy by pretending to be homeless and in need, preying on people's generosity and trust to fuel a lifestyle of drugs, greed, or luxury. They could also pull scams like faking a disability, pretending to be military or service personnel, staging themselves as terminally ill, or even staging fake robberies on themselves.

Example:
After spending a whole day on the street, earning a thousand pounds begging, he walked around the corner, got into his Bentley, and drove off to his penthouse flat.
Lee: Bruv, I felt really good the other day—there was this poor man sitting outside the bank machine. He looked really scruffy and homeless, so I gave him a tenner.

Frank: Your a idiot! He's not even homeless—he's just a fake beggar drug addict. I know him from school, bruv—he lives in a bedsit.

Lee: I'm such a mug, bruv. LOL.

Frank: I know, bruv. LOL.
