Earth Wire 

Somebody who is in an unenviable position, too pusillanimous to do anything that might improve it, yet envious of someone else in a similar bad position who has the courage to take some action. Named for these bold yellow and green stripes, Earth Wires choose instead to wallow in their own misery; pretending that suffering in silence is a noble act, and ignoring how much better everything could be for themself and others affected by the same problems.

"Bleedin' tube drivers, going on strike again! They probably get paid more than most of their passengers, and yet you don't hear me complaining about it!"
"What the hell? I'd sooner break bread with a scab than an earth wire!"

"Look at that Earth Wire, sweating his tits off while the boss has the heating on 26 degrees all day so she can swan around in her skimpy blouse and mini-skirt, and making me look bad for complaining about the heat!"
