Doorwayrounds
Rounds that check the doorways — a regular walk past the downtown doorways, alcoves and vestibules where people sleep, stopping at each one with water, food, dry socks and a name. Doorway sleepers are the easiest people in the city to walk past, and the easiest for official counts to miss, so doorwayrounds exist to make sure they are neither.
Doorwayrounds is the last walk of the night — every doorway on the main street, checked one by one, nobody sleeping there treated as scenery.
