Doing a Trump

Used to describe an act of callow stupidity bereft of forethought against expert advice.
When British Gen. Montgomery decided to attack up Highway 69 toward Arnhem in 1944 he completely failed to appreciate that the road leading through the planned route was only two lanes wide, partly raised above a surrounding flat terrain of polder. The ground on either side of the highway was too soft to support tactical vehicle movement and observation would be seriously restricted in the Fall. He was doing a Trump when he made that decision and ignored contrary advice from the Dutch Military.

Doing a Trump

Foolishly charging ahead on on issue or challenge or issue, in nothing more than self interest, despite overwhelming scientific objection to the contrary.
"I will not be doing a Trump — we will be doing what is right for the Territory, when it is right for the Territory."

Doing A Trump

Slang Expression. Used to describe an act of callow stupidity bereft of forethought.
"The only person I know who promised a hard date for things to quickly go back to normal is Donald Trump," Mr Gunner said. "I will not be doing a Trump — we will be doing what is right for the Territory, when it is right for the Territory."

Regular Degular

Plain. Not tampered with or upgraded. Basic.
May I have an order of regular degular buttermilk pancakes? Without all the added jazz? Hold the blueberry smiley face, strawberry glaze, chocolate chips and whipped cream.
