cuddlebuddy

A very close friend who enjoys cuddling, but does not have a sexual relationship with the person he likes. (See Huggy Buddies.)

1. Mark and I aren't lovers--just cuddlebuddies.
2. Jo Ann wished she had a real cuddlebuddy who could sleep over sometimes; keeping a teddy bear in bed embarrassed her.

A type of couple where they, essentially, cuddle one another, often by means of warm hugs.

a term for one of the guys in a bromance. Used in the same, homosexual-but-not-homosexual way as "bromance".

John is Sam's cuddlebuddy. That's one heck of a bromance right there.
