When the citizens of an island-state are more afraid of being fined, sued, jailed, or caned for airing their politically incorrect views about the authorities and the judiciary than the dangers posed by the coronavirus—in Singapore, the fear factor of libel and imprisonment is greater than the plague parameter of infection and death.
For foreigners in developing countries who admire the clean and green “fine” city, with its low crime and corruption, they can’t quite figure out why citizens and residents perceive Covid-🇸🇬 to be more dangerous than Covid-19.
