Ciaramedda

A type of Sicilian bagpipe from the Zampogna family of bagpipes. They have two chanters and either 2 or 3 drones. The bag is usually made from a goat hide. They are associated with Christmas music and other religious festivals and are an important part of Sicilian folk music.
Alfio plays "tu scendi delle stelle" every Christmas on his Ciaramedda.
