When you're about to hit someone, usually in the head during an argument or conflict out of nowhere. Like a sucker-punch, with some warning and to the person's front instead. Can come from behind, but only usually from a third partier who's a friend of one person involved.
Comes from "shoulder-checking", where you slam into someone with the shoulder.

*Two people bump into each other in a hallway that already dislike each other.*
"What's your problem. Why're you in my way bro?"
"Check it yo." *Suddenly decks the other person in the face without warning.*
