Charlipulator: The action of attempting to manipulate or control someone's emotions, perceptions, or self-esteem through peculiar and ineffective means. This often includes behaviors such as calling someone "special" or "different", complimenting said someones appearance while simultaneously relegating them to a platonic relationship status, and persistently inquiring about their well-being in an attempt to "fix" you.
