chain chewing

The act of taking the gum you are chewing (presumably used up) and putting it in the wrapper of the new piece of gum you are about to consume. This repeats itself until the supply of gum is exhausted.
Man alive, I was so shook up while taking the SAT, I was chain chewing the whole time! But I gave a supervisor a piece, he said he would put in a good word for me.

chain-chewing

-The act of chewing an entire pack of gum by placing the used piece of gum in the wrapper of the new piece of gum.

-The gum equivalent of chain-smoking cigarettes.
Eric: what happened to those packs of gum I just bought you?
Eric Jr.: shut up dad I was chain-chewing it
Eric: go to your room
Eric Jr.: whatever

chewing gum chain

Chain chewing gum. When you're anxious about something and start maniacally chewing one gum after another (normally dedicating a few seconds to each gum, not taking all its flavour).

It can get addictive when you're really nervous. Its like soft drugs for kids. Afterwards, you feel funny.

Don't try it with Big Red though.
After his chewing gum chain, Jake felt sick and twice as nervous.

Jessica chain chewed a whole packet of Big Red and her mouth felt like burning shit the rest of the day.
