Boomer Button

Any easily clickable button, hyperlink, or picture that will instantly spam the victim's entire friend's list or address book with an annoying falsehood, old wive's tale, and/or often bigoted story. Creators of Boomer Buttons will often exploit Baby Boomers as their primary targets.

After receiving the warning about the Muslim hacking everyone's Facebook account, Aunt Tina hastily forwarded the message to all of her friends via the convenient Boomer Button included in the original text.

Boomer Button

The volume-down control used, inexplicably in preference to pause or mute, and usually without regard for the consequences of leaving an audio track running unheard.

1. Answering phone: “Hello, sorry I’m just watching TV. Indulge me while I press the boomer button 24 times instead of mute.”

2. John opted for the inconvenience of using the boomer button 12 times, while listening to a podcast, in order to start a conversation.
