a Smallblock V8 engine produced by Ford from 1968 until 1998 (prolonged until 2000 in Australia). "351" designates the number of cubic inches of volume all the cylinders take up. "W" designates the type of block, which in this case is a Windsor block.

these engines were used on full-size Ford/Lincoln/Mercury vhicles and Ford trucks. also used in Ford Mustangs from 1969 to 1973.
