.223 Wylde

A firearm chamber designed to safely accept both the .223 Remington and 5.56 NATO round. Designed to combine the accuracy of the former with the increased power of the latter. Not to be confused with a .223 Remington chambered weapon, which can only safely accept .223 Remington rounds.

Functions similarly to a 5.56 chamber in terms of what can be fired from it.
A weapon chambered in .223 Wylde can safety fire both .223 and 5.56 NATO rounds.
