Da super-economizing version of "cough 'n' sputter"; da term is formed by simply swapping a few letter-sounds around --- i.e., "coST 'n' PuFFer" instead of "coFF 'n' SPuTTer" --- and describes how you can save gas on a car-trip during fairly good weather when you wouldn't be excessively discomforted by "hoofing it" part of the way. A large simple-design day-pack and a comfy pair of jogging-shoes are wise choices if you plan to make a "cost 'n' puffer" road-trip. One or more pullover hoodie-jackets and/or a sun-hat would be wise accessories, as well, if it's gonna be blazingly-bright, chilly, or windy that day.
