Poked is a term to refer to being stabbed in Toronto slang (maybe elsewhere). Pokes is also a term referring to a bladed/pointed weapon.

My best ways of surviving a knife attack is de-escalating if possible, giving a robber what they want; your items can be replace and gotten back not your life. NEVER get caught in a corner, run or get to anywhere people will see you, hear you whatever. AND IF YOU HAVE TO FIGHT BACK FIGHT DIRTY.
