Urban Dictionary

Urban Dictionary is a crowdsourced online dictionary of slang words and phrases that was founded in 1999 as a parody of Dictionary.com by then-college freshman Aaron Peckham. At the start of 2014, the dictionary featured over seven million definitions, while 2,000 new daily entries were being added. In November 2014, the Advertise page of the website states that, on a monthly basis, Urban Dictionary averages 72 million impressions and 18 million unique readers. Anyone with either a Facebook or Gmail account can make a submission to the dictionary, and all entries are reviewed and rated by volunteer editors and site visitors.

Urban Dictionary

A site that was meant to be used for defining more informal words. What it actually turned into was something quite different. If you look up a name, you will see 16 million posts of either A) People who have a crush on the person with the name, or B) Someone who hates a person of that name. Also people share their politically incorrect views instead of properly defining a word.

Urban dictionary

Urban dictionary is a place to push your own opinions through definitions of slang words.
The advantage of this, is that if someone doesn't know what a word means, you can give them your biased and one sided definition to attempt to flip them to your side of the opinion war.(Hell, I'm doing it right now!)
Another common use of urban dictionary is to make up words, involving your own opinions. A burst of these definitions have happened due to the election.

Person: Oh no, trump won the election? Time to go make an urban dictionary post about it!
