Steelo is a simple slang term meaning "style." The word "Steelo" w was popularized by urban youth in the NYC area in the early 1990s. As such, several hip hop artists Incorporated the use of the word, "steelo," in their songs. It flowed South from NY, thru Virginia, the Carolinas and the dirty South states of Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana and even Florida.
