tattoo flash

Pictures of predesigned tattoos. Usually a sheet will be about 11x14 and have around 4-7 tats on it all conforming to a generic theme (knives, roses, hearts, etc...). Usually made to be put into notebooks and whatnot for people to pick from.
RandomGuy: I wanna get inked.

TattGuy: What d'ya want?

RandomGuy: I dunno, lemme take a look at your tattoo flash.

TattGuy: aight.

tattoo collector

An enthusiastic aficionado, a tattoo collector is a person who sees their ink not just as individual pieces but rather as a curated collection. They seek ink from specific, carefully chosen artists, using their skin and the artists' work to build a library of body art that is meaningful and significant, potentially even beyond the collector's own appreciation.

Some collectors gain reputations and followings in social media and the convention circuit, and can wield tremendous influence within the community. Anecdotal evidence suggests comments or reviews from certain collectors can make or break an artist's career.

Further anecdotal evidence suggests that there is a far lower douchebag quotient among the collector segment than one might expect, but there's definitely some out there.
Dude1: I met this chick at the party last night, she's totally a tattoo collector.

Dude2: Tattoo collector?

Dude1: Yeah, she collects tattoos.

Dude2: That sounds creepy as shit! With what, a knife?!

Dude1: No, dumbshit, she collects tattoos from famous tattoo artists...she goes to conventions and shit to meet all the famous ones, and gets them to do tattoos on her. She only goes to the like A-list shops and stuff, and like books appointments way in advance with the serious pros. She had like a JK5, a Bert Krak, a Doug Hardy, you know. Famous dudes.

Dude2: Famous? I never heard of that shit.

Dude1: Me neither. I looked 'em up on the internet. But they're like tattoo famous, whatever.

Dude2: Cool. You hit that shit?

Dude1: Not yet, bro. But soon.

tattoo hangover

n. the physical and psychological discomfort that arrises from the crushing realization that the body art that seemed so perfect at two in the morning after an unknown number of cocktails is hugely embarrassing in the sober light of day.
"Last night Ricky J. was showing off his multi-colored 'Ricky Is A Momma's Boy' tat to everyone he met, but this morning he has a tattoo hangover at the thought of having to live with it the rest of his life."

tattoo tour

A "tattoo tour" is something you can ask for, commonly asked in chat on TikTik Live, when you'd like to see someone's tattoo artwork.
You: tattoo tour?
Her: She shows you all of her tattoos and gives a brief history of each.

Tattoo Whore

A person who is addicted to getting tattoos. These people are always in search the newest and coolest designs, or designing the next tattoo. If they see a great design they must go and get that one.
Bill got a great tattoo; it is a very unique design. Joe, the tattoo whore, saw this and got a tattoo just like that one. Joe has done this to all his friends and they angry that he is "taking" their tattoo's uniqueness from them. This is why he is a "Tattoo Whore."

Tattoo Freak

A person with an excessive amount of tattoos (of course excessive is a subjective word), or is obsessed with getting tattoos.
That guy is a tattoo freak. Look at how many he has, and he still wants more!

Tattoo Theory of Douchebaggery

The use of tattoos as an indicator of douchebaggery in men. Those with tattoos containing any color other than black have a high probability of being a douche. Those with tattoos containing only black ink are included in the douche category if any of those tattoos are in the form of an armband. Tattooless individuals are in the safe category unless those individuals can also be identified as metrosexual, which then puts them at extremely high risk for committing douchebaggery.
"Molly, you’d better steer clear of that guy. His lame ass sports logo tattoos and tribal armband put him on the high risk list as defined by the Tattoo Theory of Douchebaggery, and just make him look like a tool."
