Bum Doily

A bum doily is a pretty pattern left by a rather bad explosion of fecal matter.

Unlike most deal explosions, this one was quite pretty. It was a proper Bum Doily.

moist doily

Insult: if someone is being intentionally foolish or incompetent to get out of having to complete a task. A very common behaviour among the youngest sibs.

"Beth, quit blowing bubbles with the dish soap and do the dishes. You're being a moist doily."

Lace Doily

A woven mat that your aunt or grandmother would have on a side table underneath a plant or lamp. It served no purpose but there for decoration.
Or a female work colleague who is nice looking but hopeless at the job.
Visually attractive but pointless.

"I say, that young Samantha in admin is a fine looking filly!"
"Oh, that's Lace Doily. Don't ask her for stationery, she'll probably come back half an hour later with a gnu".

Ghetto Doily

A cheap napkin placed under a cup or bowl on top of a tray or saucer. Serves to prevent it from sliding around while being carried and to absorb a small amount of spillage

The poor waitress nearly dropped by bowl of soup and it sloshed out onto the plate. It could’ve been a disaster if she hadn’t put a ghetto doily under it.
