Young adult

A person between the ages 18 to mid-to-late twenties who is in the life stage of finding where they fit in life. These people are in the process of getting secondary education, graduating, finding jobs, keeping jobs, building careers, getting fucked by student loans, and learning about relationships. This age group usually realizes they have commitment issues and make up for their lack of emotional detachment through casual sex with many partners. They also struggle with making adult decisions on the daily during the week while also being tempted and usually giving in to heavy drinking, wild parties, spending way too much money, not giving two fucks, and a YOLO attitude on the weekend and some week days; only to wake up on Monday morning full of regret and questioning their life decisions, maturity, and who they really are. This mental confusion leads to the need for a quick fix stress-relief, hence casual sex, which in turn worsens the emotional detachment and causes the roller coaster of young adulthood to rear its ugly head to make them feel like they are getting nowhere in life.

Adultling

One who is legally an adult (18 years of age) but is still learning how to adult i.e. regularly make and eat quality food, keep living spaces clean, and do everything that your mom either had to nag you to do or just did for you.

Adultlings in college often seek the advice of full-grown adults about how to function in a responsible manner so they can fully transition into adult-hood. An adultling might say “how do I adult,” or “I suck at adulting.”
