Ok, I want to set the record straight that Runescape is not 'gay' and isn't for losers.
I started playing two years and 7 months ago, and since that time I have gotten married...go figure. One of my friends set me up on a date with her, but here's the thing...I started playing Runescape with one of his friends, and then we'd all play runescape together in my apartment...it would be a fun thing to do with my friends. Every other activity in my city would cost tons of money, so runescape would be a very fun and inexpensive activity. Had it not been for runescape, it is likely that my friends would not have come over so frequently, hence I may not have met my wife.
My wife plays this game too, so we find ourselves chatting alot while playing. One of my favorite pasttimes is going on a walk with my wife and discussing goals on runescape. We will end up walking about 2 miles to get to a Mexican Restaurant where I like ordering margaritas and calculating various goals with her about runescape. Thing is we don't always talk about runescape, but it fills in the gaps nicely when we need it to. Either of us will get a goal on runescape, and we'll go out to a restaurant to celebrate...so wouldn't runescape in fact helping us 'go out more'?
Runescape helps keep my math skills up...I do an enormous amount of calculating how much time is needed to attain x goal. There are different methods to get a skill up, so I compare the various methods to arrive at an optimal skill training method. Ancient magics using carralanger teleport gives 112,800 xp per hour, whereas Camelot teleport gives 83,250 xp per hour. But per xp point, carralanger costs a huge amount, so I calculated that casting stun on cows would be more cost efficient, and get me to the goal just as fast as carralanger teleport. Is doing math all the time a bad thing, people?? Sometimes I do calculations based on the game more than the game itself. If you don't play runescape, do you do math that much per day? I bet not. I use spreadsheets to calculate the distribution of runes received from the ZMI alter, entering in all the data from 100+ trips. And that was FUN doing those calculations.
Some people I've met online love chess, and I find myself playing chess sometimes 3/4 of the time, and rs 1/4 of the time. Is chess a bad thing? I don't think so.
Thanks for reading.

All of 'Runescape Mike's' friends eventually died of alzheimer's disease, but because of runescape, Mike's mind was shielded from the effects of this disease. Because he lived 30 years longer than his counterparts, they developed a new technology that would allow Mike to even live 500 years longer. Eventually Mike invented a new form of space flight, and is the reason humans now colonize the entire solar system and beyond.
Thanks runescape, I like pie!

Get the Runescape mug.I have to disagree with most people. Runescape is a fun game if you know how to use it right! You don't have to buy a membership theres plenty of fun things to do on basic membership, nobody is pressuring you into it! You have great quests to do and as long as you limit yourself for your playtime you will be just fine.
Chatroom:
LoladuzSoccer: Hey Malina hey Nick wanna play Runescape again?

Get the Runescape mug.1) A MMORPG game that was created back in 2001 on Java. Its graphics are remniscient of 1999, and the language of its players is remniscient of that of an asylum. Thousands of people play this game, sadly, and they actually believe that it will make them better people if they are rich on the game.
2) Evil.

Get the Runescape mug.People would claim that the only people who say this game is bad, are narrow minded people who think the graphics are crap, and are saying this game sucks for no other reasons, and then claim that it has good gameplay, simply put, they're wrong, very wrong.
I played this game 3 odd years, from about september 2001 (it was kind of fun around then), I played it excessively, through addiction, and i'm telling you, this thing can destroy you.
It doesnt have good gameplay, it is repeatative mindless clicking, on the same process over and over and over, it induces greed and spite in almost everyone who plays it, there is no social base to it.
That should be enough.

Get the Runescape mug.Runescape is a MMORPG created by JaGeX Ltd. The game offers a player many skills to train such as all forms of combat (magic, ranged, and mele) as well as non-combat skills like mining and runecrafting.
The game has a large amount of players in F2p (free to play) and in P2p (pay to play). The free version is almost like a demo, which gives the player a basic understanding of the game as well as hundreds of items to use. The pay to play version has exponentially larger amounts of items, quests, and skills to train. The Pay to play version costs $5.99 a month.
Many people enjoy the game, but also, many people despise it for it's graphics, repetitive gameplay (Point and click style), and large amounts of younger kids starting off accounts in the F2p version.
Also, the game is described as being HIGHLY addictive. As a current runescape player myself, I suggest Taking large amounts of time off of playing runescape to focus on school work and a social life.
If given the opportunity to socialize with friends or train a Runescape Account, choose the friends, RuneScape Accounts will always be there for you, and are not deleted by JaGeX unless the account has had over approx. 500+ days of no use.

Get the Runescape mug.Simply put : The most addictive and time-wasting thing someone can involve themselves in. If you haven't played NEVER START! If you quit, you'll eventaully be sucked back in.
1: Have you played Runescape?
2: I've racked up 140+ days of game play, Made 200+ accounts, played since 2004, and quit numerous times. Each time I quit I drop all my st00f; and before the GE, I would give it all away.
