Bandwagon

When one only likes or agrees with someone/something due to success. Even if said individual liked/agreed with something before they were successful, they "hopped on the bandwagon."

The most typical is the Yankees fan, many only like the Yankees due to success, however there are the few who were brought up that way.

Phillies Fan:"Yeah baby the Phillies in the World Series!"
Dodgers Fan:"Bandwagon asshole. The Dodgers have been in the playoffs almost every year and had no success, the Phillies get good out of nowhere and win the World Series."
P Fan:"Go bitch with the Mets Fan"
Mets Fan:"Haven't you put me through enough dick?"

bandwagoner

In sports, someone who shamelessly cheers for a particular team not because he likes them or follows them faithfully, but only because that particular team is the "popular" choice or has been or is the top team in their specific sport recently. When that team which bandwagoners follow falls from grace, they gleefully jump on the next teams bandwagon and cheer for that team.

James Simmons is the BIGGEST bandwagoner in the history of bandwagoners because he likes every sports team know to man! How dumb.

Bandwagon Fan

When a person decides to route for a team, not because they are faithful fans, but because it is the popular thing to to. Perhaps the team is winning, their friends are fans or they may be the team closest to their favorite mall. Either way, when you have never watched that specific sport your entire life, then you start posting things, repeatedly, about how you're so happy they've won, yet you can't name one player on the team. You are a bandwagon fan.

Like, OMG, the Giants just won! That guy with the long hair threw the ball really fast, yay! Bandwagon fan!
