Patient: I had bad constipation 2 weeks ago, then last week I had bad diarrhea, and now I'm constipated again.

Doctor: I think you have Bipolar Poop Disorder.

its impossible.
biochemists name them just so they can take the mick out of poor students.
dont try to read the book. i mean, seriously, nobody reads it. not even the guy that wrote it. its another thing biochemists do just to piss their pants laughing at us.
if you're sleepy, this is the lesson you should go to. (believe me, i've slept during several of my biochemistry lessons, it's GREAT)
just make sure you say "protein conformation" or "acetyl coA is of major importance" if you're caught unprepared.

Professor: "Pyruvate carboxylase is the first regulatory enzyme in the gluconeogenic pathway, requiring acetyl-CoA as a positive effector... excuse miss, are you SLEEPING?!?"

You: "huh..? ermm acetyl-CoA is of major importance..?"

Professor: "Indeed!!! "

You: "lovely.... *stupid biochemistry* ... zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz"

Bipolar

Mental Illness that is hard to understand. It is NOT a split-personality, and it does NOT include alter-egos. That is personality disorder/schizophrenia. When you are manic, it is the equivalent of being high. Its like driving very very fast without brakes. You usually cannot see that you are manic, and it really pisses you off when someone points it out to you. When you do realize you are manic, its after you've done/said something horrible. At this point, you feel that even if you get back in control, it is too late, you've already fucked up. This feeds the mania, and keeps it going. It is almost impossible to sleep when manic, and you get crazy ideas.

When you are depressed, it is horrible. The whole world is in shades of grey. No one can pull you out of it.

Bipolar should not always be viewed as negative. The way I see it, it is compensation. When someone is extremely smart, creative, or talented, it disrupts the balance in the brain. So, the brain must do something to restore the balance. ADD, Bipolar, Depression, etc. Ralph Waldo Emerson, Robert E. Lee, Beethoven, Buzz Aldrin, Winston Churchill, Theodore Roosevelt, Isaac Newton, Plato (according to Aristotle), St. Francis, St. John, St. Theresa, Mark Twain, T.S. Eliot, Sigmund Freud, Victor Hugo, I think you get the idea.

Just realize, every gift comes with a curse, and every curse comes with a gift.

If you take medicine, and practice self-control, you can harness your mania and channel it into a talent.

I have Bipolar, but it doesn't define me, and I don't let it control me.

Bipolar Betty

She's fat. She's crazy. She's legally bipolar. She is a "Bipolar Betty". "Bipolar Betty" is a term that can used to describe any of the countless number of fat insane girls that a person has to deal with at work or at school. Typically, your local Bipolar Betty will be found either making an inordinate amount of noise or sobbing loudly. She will have NO emotional middle ground. It's either all on ON or all OFF. She will also be huge. We're talking not just a plumper, but the full pork pie. Interact with at your own risk.

Barry : Dude you've gotta see this fucking retard we got working the help desk, she's a real fucking Bipolar Betty.

Winfield : You mean legally?

Barry : Hundred percent dude she got this job on an anti-discrimination beef.

Winfield : Dude that fucking sucks. I had a Bipolar Better two years ago in R&D and if she hadn't OD'ed on Aspirin we'd probably be the next division to getting canned. I mean individually she brought the whole workplace down. People who loved this job were leaving at 4:30 just to get away from her. It's just one of those things you know ... Bipolar affective disorder

A serious mental illness marked by violent and wild oscillations between extreme euphoria or irritability (mania) and deep depression. Although it is technically classified as a mood disorder, it is one of the few psychiatric conditions in which psychosis occurs; it is usually associated with severe manic states but profound depression may also cause delusions and hallucinations to emerge. The psychotic features are usually mood-congruent, e.g., believing oneself to be Jesus Christ and Lucifer for mania and depression respectively. It's an illness of extreme opposites in mood, thinking and energy levels and a severe mental disorder that, at least in its classic form, goes infinitely beyond what mentally healthy people experience and most certainly not to be trivialised. It is also worth noting that the mood swings associated with this disease are sustained and typically last weeks or months, years in the most extreme cases. Ultra-ultra rapid cycling (extreme mood shifts in a day) is exceedingly rare.

Bipolar affective disorder is a severe mental illness that in its most acute form is potentially worse than schizophrenia.
