Ba’alaket

An alien overlord species that uses feminine wiles to influence and manipulate the human species, especially men, but they aren’t above having a furry taco now and again. Think "space sirens.” They currently hardly talk to human women because, I mean hey, if you have electric jelly-fish vulvas, what is the point of encouraging jealousy?

In the past, every-time they try to help they really end up just making us bigger sex fiends than we already are, and then we call them names like succubus, demon... evil mermaid, although most of these names were probably thought up by women who are just jealous of their electro-pussies and their ability to steal their men.

The Ba'alaket are masters (mistresses?) Of disguise and poison. They have "cloaking" technology that makes our brains perceive them as regular humans allowing them to walk amongst us unhindered.
“Hey Mary, weren’t you and Tom a thing? What happened?”

“Yeah, we were, but that Ba’alaket Kesha got her hands on him and now not only is he glossy-eyed and slow-witted, but he’s also an ambassador to the UN.”

“That sucks, I told you she was a succubus-demon witch, right? Let’s go shopping and get you a new vibrator and you can help me pick out the clinic for my next abortion.”

Ba-dee-ya

Ba-dee-ya — The go-to phrase used by Maurice White of Earth Wind and Fire in every song he wrote that needed a filler phrase. The most popular use of this phrase was in the song September where he sings:

“'Ba-dee-ya, say, do you remember / Ba-dee-ya, dancing in September…”

The co-writer of the song September, Allee Willis, asked:

“'We are going to change 'ba-dee-ya' to real words, right?' " But, this never happened.

In the final vocal session Allee Willis got desperate and begged Maurice White to rewrite that part of the song.

Finally when it was so obvious that he was not going to do it, she yelled:

“'What the fuck does 'ba-dee-ya' mean?'

And, White said:

Who the fuck cares?'"

She said of that moment:

“I learned my greatest lesson ever in songwriting from him: never let the lyric get in the way of the groove”

The rest is 21st of September history.

As a result of taking that lesson to heart, Allee Willis went on to write: Earth, Wind & Fire’s “Boogie Wonderland,” the Pointer Sisters’ “Neutron Dance,” Pet Shop Boys with Dusty Springfield’s “What Have I Done to Deserve This” and The Rembrandts’ “I’ll Be There for You (Theme from Friends).”

She has collaborated with: Bob Dylan, James Brown, Patti LaBelle, Deniece Williams, Herbie Hancock, Lamont Dozier; and, co-authored the Broadway musical The Color Purple.

She is also the first woman--and fifth person ever--to have written music for two shows opening on Broadway in the same season.

Ba-dee-ya!
“…Hey, hey, hey
Ba-dee-ya, say, do you remember?
Ba-dee-ya, dancin' in September
Ba-dee-ya, never was a cloudy day..”

ba dum tss

An onomatopoeic reference to the drum sound effect heard after a punchline has been told (called a percussive sting). "ba dum" is the sound of the snare drum and "tss" the cymbal.

It is often used in a sarcastic manner after a cliched or bad joke has been told.

Ka'ba

"The cube," a gray stone structure at Mecca; re-shrouded annually in black brocade. It marks the geographical center of the Islamic world and is the focal point of prayer, orientation, and pilgrimage. It is viewed in Muslim tradition as the first "house of God" built by Abraham and his son Ishmael at God's command.
The first main ritual is Circling (tawaf) the Ka'ba seven time counterclockwise, putting the house of God, center of the universe, at center of one’s life.

wang ba dan

Chinese for a egg (son) of a turtle; similar to SOB but with a slightly longer history. Origins vary, but the most popular theory is that comes from wang ba duan (忘八端), which means forgetting filial piety, 'brotherly respect', loyalty, trustworthiness, politeness, justice, honesty and shame. (Being ashamed means you know you did something wrong. Calling someone shameless can be highly offensive.) Incidentally, apart from turtle, wang ba also means someone who wears a green hat.

Though if you're looking for a Chinese translation of SOB, there are better equivalents.
A: Ni zhe (you) hunzhang (shameless) wuchi (shameless) beibi (low) xialiu (seedy) si zazhong (damned mongrel dog) gei wo gun dan (take a hike)!

B: Bi zui (shut up)! Ni zhe ge bu yao lian de (shameless) wang ba dan zhen bu shi dongxi (lower than things)!

Note: Don't copy this or you'll end up in hospital for a year or two.
