The strategy used by Mercedes-Benz where you are given a more expensive or luxurious Mercedes-Benz car while your usual vehicle is being fixed or repaired. This is meant to prevent you from ever experiencing that other makes' cars are better than Mercedes-Benz.

When my C-Class was in the shop, they handed me a brand new S-Class as a loner car strategy—now I can't stop thinking about how much I love driving it!
