New Age Horrorcore

A 2020s micro-genre characterized by aesthetic theft, where trap artists wear Black [Metal] corpse paint and use gore-site imagery to mask a lack of musical technicality. Unlike original horrorcore, New Age Horrorcore is purely digital, focusing on "clout-demon" posturing within Telegram groups and Discord servers.

It is often used by artists who have been rejected by the [Metal] and [Goth] communities for being "posers." The "horror" in the name usually refers to the artist's catastrophic financial situation and inability to function in adult society.

"The New Age Horrorcore scene is just a bunch of suburban kids in Illinois trying to look scary while their parents pay the Wi-Fi bill. It’s basically 'Debt-Core' for people with 764 in their bio. You can't achieve spiritual awakening through singing about mutilating women."

Example;
