The technical term for depression of clinical significance. Although depression is somewhat ambiguous, this usually refers to a long term struggle to cope with one's self, society and/or their environment.
Clinical depression usually revolves around the concept of brain chemistry according to most psychologists. Researchers insist some people may be predisposed or vulnerable to depression because their brain cannot produce enough monoamines such as serotonin, norepinephrine and dopamine. This is often referred to as a chemical imbalance by researchers. When a diagnosis for Clinical Depression is given with the cause being brain chemistry, doctors and psychiatrists will often start shoving various and often unnecessary prescriptions for antidepressant drugs at you. Although, most SSRI drug treatments are harmless and usually produce positive results, if a doctor gives you a prescription and you have had symptoms for less than a year, consider doing more research before you accept a prescription for SSRI drugs since doctors often hand these out like candy, and since pharmaceutical companies have had a major influence in depression research often sponsoring doctors and researchers.

2. "After 15 minutes of talking with a psychiatrist I was handed a prescription for a drug that could potentially kill me and give me seizures."

A serious issue that is not addressed nearly enough.
When a teenager acts sad or irritable, it's usually attributed to "hormones" or "Attention-seeking." What people don't realize is that teenagers can and do get depressed. In fact, depression in teenagers has been rising alarmingly fast since 2015.
Why should a teen be depressed? Well...there's many reasons.
The teen years are where life starts hitting you like a truck full of bricks; you're in High School now, and it's time to think about what you're going to do with your life. Your parents and teachers may pressure you to do well, and your teachers may not necessarily be that great. It's basically your free trial of working 9 to 5; only it's 8 to 3 (or 4) and you have several "bosses" whom you have to please. And let's not get started on puberty...
With all this going on at once, teenagers will often be stressed and confused, and a snowball effect ensues:
Stress leads to depression, and depression is often misunderstood.
Misunderstandings leads to ignorant, unhelpful adults.
Ignorant, unhelpful adults leads to deeper depression.
Deeper depression leads to self-harm.
And finally, self-harm leads to suicide.

Teenage Depression is real. If your teen seems to be a bit irritable and down, don't dismiss it as a phase.
Because if you don't, you probably won't be having any grandchildren; however, you WILL have the crippling pain of outliving your child due to something that YOU as a parent could have prevented if you simply tried to understand what your teen is going through.

A general state of sadness, personal despondency, or dejection felt immediately after witnessing an individual outperform or otherwise display such exceptional skill playing a guitar that it leaves one suddenly melancholic or indifferent towards oneself and one's own level of skill with same instrument. Not to be confused with shredblock.
Carla: "Hey, have you seen James recently?"
Gary: "Nah. I hear he has guitar depression...hasn't left his room, or touched his guitar for weeks. Not since John Petrucci ripped him a new one."
