A sub-genre of non-mainstream music recently brought into the mainstream with such bands as The Killers and Franz Ferdinand. Its fans tend to be the pickiest of any kind of music, rejecting any change in the sound or lyrical content of their favorite bands that makes them sound even slightly "mainstream." This form of music has thus gained a reputation of snobbery.

I would tell you about my favorite band, whose music I love, but you've never heard of it and thus you are not worth the telling.

Indie Girl

If you are looking this up, your either curious to what Indie really is, or you want to be Indie.
I hate to break it to you, but Indie isn't quite what you think it is.
Indie means independently owned, such as music and films.
But there's this silly thing called MTV who started this craze called Indie. Its just another stereo typical fad that has high schools and young adults crazy.

So what is Indie you ask, Indie is, like I said Independently owned ...
You cannot BE Indie. You either listen to independently owned music or watch independently made films.
But, MTV started the craze of "indie". You know that cool kid that everyone knows. Listens to obscure bands that are just that much cooler than what you listen to. And they seem that much cooler than you.
A stereo typical indie kid is plaid shirts, skinny jeans, random haircut.
But Indie isn't that. Those people are just hipsters.
It doesn't matter how many countless times people say that indie is just independent thinking, IT ISN'T!
It is a type of music or film.
Even if someone said, I like the genre of Indie
IT ISN'T A GENRE

Indie-Scene girl

A teenager that doesnt like labels. She has 15 pairs of awesome jeans but wears the same pair of jeans 3 times a week. She is extremely unpredictable and will go to school wearing dark jeans with plain V necks, then will come to school wearing neon yellow pants. She doesnt do what she's told and isn't very confident but will come off being the most self obsorbed person ever. People dont really care what she has to say,, unless theyre her friend which she is the RADDEST person they know,, doesnt really have solid group of friend just 3 really close ones and 5 distant ones, she hangs around the goth kids but will spend the night at the most Unpopular, ugliest girls house that she doesnt hang around at school with at all, mostly because nobody asks her to do anything. She claims to be an alcaholic and chokes down vodka everynight to prove that she is.

Hates Hot Topic because its "Tacky and overpriced", but looks like she shops there. She mostly shops at pac sun and wet seal.

Guy2:Dude she was wearing neon pants yesterday

Guy1:That girls weird but awesome at the same time

It's when a band is first starting out on a small independent label and hasn't become rich or popular yet.Ironically rich know it all college hippies all love indie music as long as the artists don't make one red cent from it.But the second the artists actually makes money the stupid rich know it all college hippies don't like them anymore and accuse them of being sellouts.If you are rich enough to go to college then you ARE a fucking sellout already so you should be such a hypocrite as to call bands who make it beyond an indie label sellouts.Also college retards like anything that's not popular even if it sucks balls and so in scrambling to find new shitty bands that haven't become popular yet these stupid gay rich college hippie faggots latch onto a new emo band every week,lol.

Stupid indie music is how rich know it all college hippies like to pretend that they are keepin it real,lmao.
