Spreading the word, or 'raising awareness' of an issue without actually doing anything useful (like, say, donating money). Popularly employed on Tumblr by image-conscious bloggers who want to look like they care deeply about a cause or issue, while they try to avoid investing any time, money or effort into said cause.

A Tumblr slacktivist reads a blog post from another Tumblr user who doesn't have enough money to pay rent and is shamelessly groveling for money on the internet.

Tumblr blogger: "Reblogging this is as good as giving money, right? I'll just tag it 'signal boost' so everyone knows how much I care about raising awareness and helping others."

Singapore Math

When math-smart yes-members of Parliament and cabinet ministers in Singapore—who are versed with all the big numbers of their million-dollar salaries and bonuses and the nation’s trillion-dollar economy—appear quasi-clueless on how to deal with the alphas, betas, and deltas, which has resulted in a daily unhealthy number of corona infections in recent weeks—could these half-street-smart politicians outwit these Greek viruses and variants?

Although the government has provided a safe haven for thousands of tax fugitives from both rich and rogue nations, and created a materialistic milieu that motivates both locals and aliens to deify the money god, however, Singapore math ministers’ social living-with-Covid experiment looks like they’re indulging in some trial-and-error political calculus with the lives and livelihoods of the people.

Very powerful choral vocals or shouts along with lead singer. It's shouting several statements, frases, words or even sounds. Such things are widespread in hardcore punk, straight edge and youth crew to pick out the main idea of a song, to appeal audience's attention. Singalons are also present in fusion genres of hardcore punk with metal (metalcore), death metal (deathcore), pop punk (easycore). Not to be confused with backing vocals.

I wanna listen to this song again and again only because of this nice singalong!

Singles Envy Day

February 14th. Alternative to Valentines Day and Singles Awareness Day.
By contrast this is a day more for celebration of being single. Those celebrating Singles Envy Day are free from having to get a gift, going to dinner at a restaurant they don't like or any of the other myriad "have to" Valentines Day activities. Also a more joyous event that Singles Awareness Day since you do not feel sorry for being single and think of yourself as a loser.

"Dude wanna watch the game on the 14th?"
"Man, I have to take Kara to dinner since it's Valentines Day."
"Man, that sucks. I'm celebratings Singles Envy Day and don't have to do anything."
