Tamar

Means "palm tree" in Hebrew. Tamar was the daughter-in-law of Judah in the Old Testament. Also in the Old Testament, this was the name of a daughter of David.
Pronounced: TAH-mahr (English), TAY-mahr (English)

The more modern version of Tamar is Tamara which was widely used in Eastern Europe e.g Russia Tamara - tah-MAH-rah (Russian),
