Pandemic Standard Time

The time zone everyone on Earth is on due to the pandemic. All of time seems to be mushed and nobody can remember the day.

Two friends texting in late 2020:
Friend 1: "Omg I just thought it was Tuesday."
Friend 2: "It is Tuesday!"

Friend 1: "OMG haha wow. See I got confused cause I had two similar events today and yesterday."
Friend 2: "You must be stuck in Pandemic Standard Time"

Standard Microwave Cooking Time (SMCT)

n. to disregard listed microwave oven instructions and instead use a personalized set time to heat any and all microwaveable food items

I can't find the box for the popcorn so I'll just use standard microwave cooking time (SMCT) and hope it doesn't burn.

M.S.T. (MUT Standard Time)

Mut standard time (MST) is used to describe people from a certain friendship group always arriving somewhere 30 mins - 1 hour after the scheduled time.

“We all agreed to be here at 4:30, where is max?”
“He’s probably following M.S.T. (Mut Standard Time) so he’ll be here at around 5:30”

Michael Standard Time

The proper term to use when you know you will be late to a social gathering or event, usually dictates that the person will be around 1-3 hours late past the selected time.

Person 1: Hey, I'll be there at 5 pm Michael Standard Time (MST).
Person 2: Sweet, I'll start preparing around 7.

Person 1: dude WTF, you said you would be here at 9?
Person 2: Sorry, I was held up by traffic, I should have said 9 AM MST.
Person 1: Oh, ok that's cool.

McCarthy Standard Time

The time difference from your chosen time zone (BST, EST, ECT. etc) to the one being used by a terrible time keeper. Usually meaning they will vastly underestimate the time they need to complete a task or overestimate how fast they can travel somewhere, making them the constant reason for delays in planning and execution of group activities.

Cal: I’ll be home in 10 minutes and load up a playlist as soon as i get online. So… gimme 20 minutes and we’re set.

Dan: Is that GMT or McCarthy Standard Time?

Jack: See you in an hour Cal. 🙄

Marroni Standard Time

Also know as MST, is the mean solar time at which a person arrives. Adopted as the standard time in a zone that usually borders on the cap of being fashionable late. MST delays typically run from 15-45 minutes.

Ki Ki: "I'll be there at 6pm."

*Ki Ki & party arrive to the event at 6:52pm*
RC: “ Sorry guys, we were operating on Marroni Standard Time”

Someone who always shows up late to the scheduled time they said they would start or arrive at.

Maria said she would show up at 9, she got here at Maria (Name) Standard Time of 9:00 (10:00)
