nepotocracy

The opposite of meritocracy. A system whereby privilege and wealth opens all doors regardless of actual skill set or past failures. What allows shonky people in positions of power to get sideways promotions out of difficult situations that they have created.

The nepotocracy wins again. Another juicy job gone to (insert whatever slimy politician/executive here) after he screwed up (insert whatever project/company here). How do these people keep getting these positions?

Nepotard

A person born under the umbrella of a successful family-business that never bothered to learn how the rest of the world works until they encounter a life-challenge that their family couldn't shield them from.

Hank: "I always thought that Harlan Brusk was really smart because he got rich selling the best fireworks in this town with that three-finger salute of his."

Clem: "Nah, the only reason he has 3 fingers on his left hand is 'cuz he grabbed onto one of his dad's skyrockets and thought he could fly with it. His dad just kinda sits back and lets him run the business now because he's convinced the rest of the county to love the fireworks. Hell, he bought the governor's seat last time around."

Hank: "Son of a bitch... he's just been another nepotard all along?"

Clem: "Eeeeeeeyup...."

An individual born under the umbrella of a successful family0business and therefore never had to learn to navigate common life as a result. When they crash headlong into real conflict that can't be resolved by throwing money at it they spiral hard in a very public way.

For better or for worse, Elon Musk is the most famous nepotard in the history of the world.
