The stage of the CoViD-19 global pandemic where we see a spike in deaths of children from Coronavirus. The main cause of this is transmission from unvaccinated parents to their young children. This will be due, in part, to ICU beds being taken up by adults with severe cases of CoViD which means children with moderate cases are denied care by overwhelmed hospitals. 2022 will see the Omicron variant (5th Wave) run rampant through the populace, with an R⁰ ≈ 3.5. Even though it may be "less deadly" overall, the hospital system being pushed past the "breaking point" will necessitate Triage Protocols to ration care. The infant through age 9 demographic will see almost as high of a death rate as the 70+ demo.
