The act of putting someone else down or insulting them to boost one's Ego. It is most commonly done through pointing out the other person's shortcomings.

egoist: everybody loves my good looks
person 2: congratulations
egoist: everything i have is better from the clothes i wear down to the car i drive
person 2: aww shucks
egoist: i'm not egotistical
