Distant-author

A writer who was born in one country and had to leave her motherland for certain reasons and became a citizen of another one and writes about the people, culture etc. of her original country with the help of her imagination.

So, the manner of trying to imagine and describe about the motherland and its people deserves esteem. I think that we should coin a new term, i.e. “distant-author” and add it to Lahiri’s name since she, being a part of another country, has taken the help of ‘imagination’ and depicted her India the way she has wanted to; the writer must have every possible right to paint the world the way he/she thinks appropriate.

Social distancing zombies

In order to maintain a safe distance from others, people were conditioned to raise their arms in front of them. When everyone shuffled around with their arms raised in front of them, the advised level of social distancing was maintained. In lockdown, only a few social distancing zombies were out and about.

I took my handkerchief out to blow my nose and the social distancing zombies scattered.

Destany

A Destany is a typically nice girl except for when she's pissed at a person or matter. She can easily get jealous but won't show it to her close friends because they aren't worth the talk. She is obsessed with boys that she like and might ditch her own friends for them. However, she is very funny and cracks jokes better than anyone. You must know her well first, in order to understand her jokes and the things that she says. Destanys' are typically abnormal just because their name was spelled wrong at birth (instead of Destiny) but they have loyal friends who accept their quirkiness.

Have you heard about that new girl Destany?
