Claimspace can expand or contract as a game progresses - as Villagers die, a player might realize that they are a Miller or an Announcer, or mafia-aligned players might be forced into counterclaims. A role dying might open up your ability to claim, as they can no longer disprove or otherwise hinder your claim, or it might close off a formerly safe claim as your two roles are incompatible.
