Olive Loaf

Something that one think ones wants but that one ends up quietly regretting ever having considered in the first place.

This slang came from a couple of friends (who were roommates) of mine, one of whom decided during a trip to the supermarket that he just had to buy that enticing package of olive loaf from the meat department. The olive loaf sat in the fridge for weeks unopened before the other friend demanded that it be thrown out. At that point the name of the meat became synonymous with something that a person momentarily and mistakenly desires. It could be, for instance, used to describe a physically attractive but otherwise obnoxious or troubled person, as in "She's hot-looking but she's still olive loaf."

Similar to the Official Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex in North Texas. The Alternative name for it is "The 4-Plex Territory/Area" or "The 4"

The New Orleans-Baton Rouge-Lafayette-Lake Charles Metroplex should have been a proposal a long time ago to enhance and increase the attraction of the principal/chief city which is New Orleans. It worked with Dallas and Fort Worth, so it should work with new orleans and the following cities! The Unofficial New Orleans-Baton Rouge-Lafayette-Lake Charles Metropolitan Area would be 2,817,540 people and that would place New Orleans at Number 14 on the All Time Combined Statistical Area which is currently held by The Orlando-Deltona-Daytona Beach, FL CSA (Combined Statistical Area) at 2,747,614

loaf

"A Loaf" refers to a whole uncut bread, not a chunk. A loaf is the complete item, as removed from the oven. Bread in it's virgin state. (Western style bread I think, doesn't really work for unleavened breads eg. Pitta, Nan, Chappatti etc.).

Are you going to buy a wholemeal loaf or a granary loaf.
What a ready sliced white loaf? Shame on you!
