Get the Neo-Racismmug. Referring to “neo concept” when discussing the K-pop group NCT (most often used to describe the subunit NCT 127)’s specific style of music. Neo in this context is used to describe the unique, niche, and unconventional sound and concepts used by NCT. This is a mix of electronic, trap, hip hop, rap, rock, pop, and more in order to create the group’s signature bold, futuristic, boisterous, and experimental sound. They are often deemed as the only K-pop group to be able to work within this sound and style and are highly credited with true artistry in order to pull off such a unusual, eccentric, and distinctive sound.
