birthday wish rule

the belief that telling someone what you wished for won't come true. similar to when you wish for something on your birthday before you blow out your candles, and you can't tell anyone what you wished for because it won't come true.

the birthday wish rule applies mostly to the law of attraction.
teacher: "what are you planning to do after high school?"

intellectual student: "if it tell you, it won't come true. birthday wish rule. sorry not sorry."

in this situation, the teacher could end up being a mean person and try to use your aspirations against you. for example, if you want to be a famous pop star, they might bully you and make you lose hope, telling you that you'll never amount to anything. of course, they could also be supportive and become a day one. it's up to you. it may involve risk, but it's up to you. always.

to fail and grow is not something you might always want to avoid.

much love !! hadn't seen this word anywhere so decided to create it :)

birthday position

For his birthday, he gets to choose how they will make love. The position is therefore called birthday position.
My husband can ask me all year round if we do it this way, but I always answer: it's not your birthday. This is your birthday position!
My wife has also invented an Urban Dictionary word. It's both appealing and bitter: the birthday position.

Birthday Boy

A derogatory term for a trans man that believes in transmisandry.
I can't believe Dylan really thinks trans men are less privileged then trans women... what a birthday boy!

Birthday effect

Also known as the birthday blues, this effect is a statistical phenomenon where an individual's likelihood of death appears to increase on or close to their birthday, e.g. due to skydiving in order to celebrate birthday
They say there's a birthday effect, so I’m skipping the skydiving this year; I don’t want to become a statistic.

Birthday paradox

In probability theory, Birthday paradox is the phenomenon concerning the probability that, in a set of n randomly chosen people, at least two will share the same birthday. The birthday paradox is the counterintuitive fact that only 23 people are needed for that probability to exceed 50%. The birthday paradox is a veridical paradox, i.e. a paradox that produces counter-intuitive results, but is demonstrated to be true nonetheless.
I always thought it was super rare for two people to share a birthday, but the birthday paradox says it only takes 23 people to make it likely!

Birthday Donut

A crude term for a man’s asshole — the “special treat” he’s been sitting on since birth.

Phrase origin: combines “birthday suit” (naked) with “donut” (a round shape with a hole), creating a tongue-in-cheek term that’s equal parts ridiculous and vivid.
“He was talking big until someone threatened to glaze his birthday donut.”
