This situation typically arises due to external circumstances beyond one's control, such as inclement weather, global pandemics, or transportation strikes, where individuals are confined to their homes. Despite the restriction, the experience is somewhat leisurely or vacation-like, often involving activities not typically partaken in during regular home life, such as indulging in hobbies, binge-watching, or creative home projects.

After the blizzard hit, we were on a week-long stuckation, complete with homemade spa days, movie marathons, and indoor camping with the kids.
