The (eventual) natural outcome will be for citizens to recognize that the officials it has been electing have been engaging in unneccessary and maleficial agreements, and that a much smaller government will regenerate, with new, more effective and responsible organization to it.

Jesus was an independent-minded Republican (see the Bible: his actions at the temple (throwing over the table), his interaction with the tax collector and his forgiveness/acceptance/friendship with regard to Mary Magdalene).
