An event where a group of aspiring writers pitch their ideas to a group of experts, who then pick apart their ideas, much like on American Idol. Often there is a winner declared and it is usually held in a bookstore.

I think I'm going to share my idea for a kosher maternity cookbook at the Pitchapalooza this weekend.

A euphemism used to measure levels of drunkenness. Taken from baseball.

Low pitch count: buzzed, can continue to imbibe for a long time.
High pitch count: smashed, high risk of being pulled from the game.
