The dogmatic belief that all technological advancements are inherently and automatically good for both the individual and humanity at large.
This belief is often grounded in utopian fantasies about technology, largely shaped by prolonged exposure to sci-fi media such as its namesake, Star Trek.

Person A: "AI taking everyone's job is actually a good thing. It is going to be like Star Trek soon, and Elon Musk said money will be useless in the future anyway, so why do people need jobs?"
Person B: "You are suffering from Star Trek disorder. You are assuming that technological advancement automatically leads to a utopian society, despite there being no evidence for it in reality."

Get the Star Trek Disorder mug.The act in which a dedicated wingman/woman seals the deal with the main target's ugly friend, thus allowing YOU ample space to make your move on the babe/hunk.
The term is derived from the Star Trek quote "To boldly go where no man has gone before..." and should be used to emphasise that the fugly friend was so incredibly nasty that it is presumed that she/he had probably never had connection with the human race in such a way before.
Although predominantly used in wingmanship, it can also be used in context of someone merely pulling an ugly person whilst blind drink for humorous effect.

Get the Becky The Trekkie mug.People who grew up watching Star Trek during the mid 1960s. This was during a time where the technology back then wasn't as good as it is now so Star Trek was one of the only things that kept them the most entertained because of the futuristic elements within the show in which they envisioned the future to be like.
