I would be more apathetic if I weren't so lethargic

From an episode of Family Guy where Peter tries to "educate" himself on proper edicate and ends up picking up a New Yorker. Being Peter, he turns to the comic section of the New Yorker and find "I would be more apathetic if I weren't so lethargic." And waits a few days trying to understand the meaning of it.

>>"Okay"
>"I would be more apathetic if I weren't so lethargic? What?"
>"Ohhh I get it, can I get a jugs?"

hypothetical situation

A questionable event brought up in conversation which has already happened, or has been planned out completely in the speaker's mind and is waiting for public approval.

Most probably the event has occurred with direct involvement of the speaker, but it may have just involved another party which has divulged the information to the speaker.

Woman: Hypothetical situation - If a girl were to come up to a guy and bend over to pick up a pencil so he would look at her ass, then yell at him for looking, does that make her a bitch?

Other Woman: Oh my god, you are such a tease!

Guy: Completely Hypothetical situation - A guy borrowed his bro's car and after backing into a telephone pole gently, heard a crunching sound. Nothing appears to be wrong with the car, but he's almost sure he broke something. Does he tell his bro?

Bro: If he doesn't want his bro to show him where Bangkok is, yes.

hypothetical adventure

when you are in a deep thought (possibly high) and completely zoned out or half asleep and you begin thinking of some hypothetical situation where you or someone might do something and then carry on thinking out what would happen in great detail for an extended period of time

Guy #1:Dude, you just zoned out for like fifteen minutes.. I didn't want to say anything because I thought you were sleeping with your eyes open.
Guy #2: Yeah man I just went on a hypothetical adventure about what would happen if I told my girlfriend I was sleeping with her sister and apparently she'd take a bat to my car and probably put me in the hospital

hathetic

A portmanteau adjective describing something that is both hateful and pathetic - obviously a word that our current social environment needs desperately. It was coined, so far as I know, by blogger Andrew Sullivan, used to describe such things as a 45-year old clip of Barry McGuire singing "Eve of Destruction" with a notable grimace on Shindig, in tight white jeans with a moody junkyard stage set and interpretive "dancing" behind him. Obviously also useful in summarizing the Glenn Beck vibe.

Sarah Palin's attempts at political analysis and debate aim so low and miss so badly that they are merely hathetic.
