bodmin

The amount left unpaid when a group agree to each pay for their own meal in a restaurant and the total of each person's contribution adds-up to less than the total bill.
The usual solution is then to add an equal fraction of the bodmin to each persons share.

"Well guys, the bodmin is $5.50 - so that's 55 cents each."

A term used by Georgia Nicolson, a very hilarious, somewhat imaginary British girl. Means something is exceptionally strange. Plus, it's just fun to say.

She had freakishly large hands. They just sort of flopped about like a pair of fish being suffocated. It was odds bodkins.

air bowing

term referring to novice violin and chello players who pretend to play during musical performances in order to impress their parents.

When I was in fourth grade, all I did was air bow. Carolyn is a really good violin player, when I was her age I just air bowed. There were several children air bowing the concert.

What a coincidence! I went to the Symphony last night and I was in the audience totally air bowing, and then today I got my Word of the Day and there it was, but wtf they can't even spell cello!
