Thus instead of a New Year's resolution, it's a New Week's resolution, seeing as it only lasts a week.

These usually involve leisure activities such as golfing, boating, camping, or fishing, but may also include tasks around the house such as landscaping, roofing, or gardening. Unlike New Year's resolutions, these often do not succeed due to a simple lack of enough time. People often realize they have not succeeded around the 4th of July.
My summer resolutions were to golf and fish more. It is now the 4th of July and I have not done either one yet!
