Meaning that something or someone is cool but edgy at the same time. Also: out of place, weird but funny, cringe but in a good way etc.

Joel: Its when you smoke so much opium you hear music.
John: Cool! totally did that last night bro. And by the way, where crackalackin'

No. The cynics would say:
Hym "Opium isn't smiley faces and rainbows though. It's highly addictive and the euphoria is contrasted by the withdrawal. The 'Hell' would be the withdrawal part. The withdrawal is the downsides of the religion that the religious refuse to acknowledge. It's a microcosm vs macrocosm analogy. It make you, the religious person, feel better about things (Your suffering, the suffering of others, your incredulity, your inevitable death, the death of your loved ones) but in MACROCOSM... It's tool you (collectively) use to coerce behavior, justify violence, non-cooperation, or other general malfeasance. So, once again, you're misrepresenting the analogy for the purpose of reframing it as a 'lie.' It isn't a lie. You're reading comprehension is bad."

A "Magnus Opium" is the Latin term for a "great work," most commonly referring to a person's or an artist's greatest and most significant creation, such as a painting, song, or literary work. The term also has a historical, alchemical meaning, where the Magnus Opium was the process of creating the philosopher's stone, and can even be used more broadly to refer to any significant and outstanding work or achievement, like a complex construction project
