A term to refer to people of the African diaspora, who are significantly or predominantly of African descent ;

A person (predominantly) of African descent. ;

An alternate and/or more preferred term than "black".

Abby: "So you're technically European since you were born in France right?"
Benita: "Yeah, but I'm afrodes. My mom is from Cuba and my dad, Colombia. And I also used to live in Cuba after moving from France when I was about six years old."

Naomi : "Well I guess that was just how I was born haha. And I personally prefer the term afro-des."
Carlita: "Wait what do you mean? Why would you rather be called that than black?"
Naomi : "Well, I am not a color. No one is the color black, or even white haha. Those terms to me are completely outdated, just like "colored" and other inappropriate terminology. So, I would much rather be identified or classified by my inheritance, heritage, and descendance, rather than a color. I just think it's much more appropriate and accurate. And for years, we've used these "white" and "black" terms as if they are supposed to be relative to ethnic and racial groups' skin colors, although we often all come from different complexions and shades regardless of our heritage and racial grouping."

A person who is part of a New Age cult called Afrocentrism. Typically, the person is an African American who refuses to fit into American "culture"

Afroboo

Like a Koreaboo, an Afroboo desperately want's to be black. Sadly nowadays it's more common than you think, some people are going as far as injecting melanin into themselves to obtain that natural black dark skin glow. As well as wearing cultural hairstyles e.g; Box-braids, cornrows and dreadlocks etc. Mocking the stereotypical African-American slang and the way they talk is very common as well.

Woahhvicky: I took a DNA test and it told me i'm black
Me: Have you check in the mirror though, use your common sense your plain, tasteless Caucasian.
Woahhvicky: Gurl I'll beat your ass in becoming blood now. By the way, can you text me where you get your cornrows done, I need some weave!
Me: Can you stop your being a disrespectful ass Afroboo!

Afrobot

A humanoid (or human) who is infatuated with robots and aspires to be one (cyborg also falls into this catagory). Typically this person will sport some sort of afro being small and tight or large and blownup. Notice this is not tied down to any look fashion wise but musically secretly enjoy's diva house and enjoys dancing to the max.

Also refers to someone w/afro doing the robot. Such as ...

"That guy is doing the robot!!"

"which guy? The one with the afro?"

"YEAH!! THE AFROBOT!"

"Slammin."

afrotek engineering

A poor man's way of engineering. The most common example is on cars where a brother can slap a pair of 22's and a two-tone paint job on a car and say they engineered this car. In fact, Afrotek engineered is just the politically correct way of saying "pimped".

The show "Unique Whips" and most of whats on "Pimp My Ride" is straight up Afrotek Engineering.
