Gran Turismo 4

The pinnacle of racing games.

Gran Turismo 4 is the greatest racing game of all time. No racing game before or since have managed to capture the spirit of Gran Turismo 4. It has good racing, good physics, huge car and track list, but the two things that makes Gran Turismo 4 stand out compared to other racing games iare the 2 most important aspects of any racing game, career mode and progression. Gran Turismo 4's career mode is not only diverse and long, but is extremely well designed thanks to the progression that makes you go from slow econoboxes to the fastest Le Mans Prototypes and Group Cs. It also includes 24 hour endurance races if you're masochist like me. Gran Turismo 4 is what every racing game should dream as. A career mode that is diverse, long, replayable, and a progression that makes you go from slowest to fastest is what every racing game needs to take notes on, especially future racing games.

Moon Tourism

Commercial travel to the Moon or its immediate vicinity, offered by emerging private spaceflight companies. Unlike orbital space tourism (which stays in Earth orbit), moon tourism aims to take paying customers to lunar orbit, and eventually to the surface. The experience includes seeing Earth rise over the lunar horizon, experiencing reduced gravity, and being part of a very exclusive club. Currently the domain of billionaires and extreme adventure seekers, moon tourism represents the next frontier of luxury travel, though critics call it a vanity project for the ultra‑rich while Earth burns.

Example: “He spent his crypto fortune on a moon tourism ticket—a week in lunar orbit for the price of a small country’s GDP.”

ISS Tourism

Space orbit tourism specifically to the International Space Station (ISS). Private individuals can pay for a trip to the ISS via companies like SpaceX or Roscosmos, staying for up to a few weeks as “spaceflight participants.” They live and work alongside professional astronauts, conduct educational outreach, and experience life in the only permanent human habitat off Earth. ISS tourism is extremely expensive (tens of millions of dollars) and requires months of training. It’s the closest most people will ever get to being an astronaut, though critics argue the ISS should be reserved for scientific research.

Example: “His ISS tourism trip cost more than most people’s lifetime earnings, but he got to float in the Cupola, take photos of Earth, and eat rehydrated ice cream.”

Mars Tourism

The industry and culture of visiting Mars for leisure, exploration, and experience. Mars tourism encompasses travel, accommodations, surface tours, and activities such as canyon hiking, fossil hunting (if any exist), and photography. The industry faces immense challenges: radiation, low gravity, dust, and the psychological toll of long isolation. Early Mars tourism will be dominated by a few wealthy adventurers, but as technology improves, package tours, educational trips, and even budget options may emerge. Mars tourism is the holy grail of space tourism advocates.

Example: “The Mars tourism brochure featured a rover tour of Valles Marineris, a sunset climb of Olympus Mons, and a stay in a pressurized habitat. She signed up immediately.”

Somebody who uses their rear view mirror to look into the car behind to check out what the driver/occupants are doing.
