Situationship

A term used in reference to intimate relations practiced by people who are uncomfortable with both relationships and relationship anarchy because they can’t wrap their minds around the concept of genuine companionship that happens to include sex — because apparently ‘FWB’ doesn’t refer to actual friendship — unless it is constantly being forced into a concrete, restrictive, linguistic definitions because of the idea that if there are feelings, the dynamic must change to use relationship labels to coddle our insecurities instead of working to improve ourselves.

Person 1: I’m in this situationship…
Person 2: what’s that?
Person 1: like friends with benefits but actual friends and I just don’t want to make light of the fact that we’re still friends and not some mystical third category just because we like each other.

Person 2: got it, continue…
Person 1: anyway it means literally nothing to me.

Someone who isn't necessarily gay but will engage in homosexuality if it's convenient or lucrative.

David isn't gay, he's situational. He's only with Steve because Steve pays his way in life.
